one of the best death doom bands so far. great melodies with great atmospheres. mostly slow, heavy and doomy but sometimes there are these groovy double-bass drum moments wich are pretty fucking cool. if you like death doom and melodic atmospheric black metal, this is for you.

An excellent album and live performance from this psychedelic collective. Musically and in spirit, they follow the same path as the Psychedelic Black Metal/Ambient style of 'Wolvennest,' adding prestigious underground guests from the occult doom and black metal scene. They manage to create a unique trance and ritual. Highly recommended for fans of 'Wolvennest' and followers of 'Van Records.

The atmosphere of this album is fantastic. Makes you feel like you're knee-deep in the trenches drenched in mud, filth, sweat, and blood. Truly encapsulates the horrors of World War I, and the fact that the lyrics of some of the songs are taken from old war letters really adds to the authenticity. Favorite Track(s): Die Feuertaufe, Grabenlieder

I used to avoid Forgotten Tomb for years because of the tag "Depressive Black Metal". There's a price to pay for being such prejudice and that is miss the chance to hear their musical change that started from "Under Saturn Retrograde". This album is a blend of Southern Metal and Black Metal and I think this no easy feat to do. Yet this album is a perfect example of how to do it. I highly recommend this album if you like Black Metal, Down, Alice in Chains and Crowbar, you won't regret it.
