It has been out of stock for quit some time now, even though it is considered a classic album within the Viking/Pagan Metal genre. So we decided to re-release this classic album full of mighty Pagan Hymns!
For all of those who do not have this album a nice opportunity to buy the third album of Thyrfing and to enjoy songs such as ‘Mjölnir’, ‘The Breaking of Serenity’ or the classic ‘Home Again’, but in general this album has absolute no fillers.
The album contains eleven bombastic yet catchy Viking metal tunes that are filled with nice keyboard melodies, berserker vocals, with cool clean singing added and pounding guitar riffs.
With this album Thyrfing made a huge step forward, moving in the more artistic direction, simply more grown up and with a big improvement on all fronts (production, arrangements, skills). The diversity is huge, from Black Metal to Heavy Metal, all covered with a certain Folkish/Pagan layer.
All in all a highly influential band’s 3rd album, where their Swedish roots truly
Super interesting mix of bluegrass and atmospheric black metal. Just enough of each to stay interesting and the samples add a nice atmosphere. If you are into concept records and have an open mind you should dig it Jason Torres
The Serpent & The Sphere trades in Marrow of the Spirit's long-winded impressionism for a punchier take on blackened post-doom-folk metal. Frankly, it works for me.
What doesn't work for me is that I ordered a CD of this album six months ago and it hasn't even been shipped. So if anybody knows who's distributing Agalloch CDs these days, I'm all ears. Visionary
